GC with Hydrogen for fatty acids from RBC

I want to use GC to analyse the composition of fatty acids from RBC,but I always use He to carry on the GC,this is the first time for me to use the GC with hydrogen,is it dangerous?or anything I need to pay attention to?Need I to wash the column (DB-225)frequently?Thank you fro your reply!
