Expired TC flasks

Is it ok to use tissue culture flasks that are past the expiry date, provided they are sealed? Or does the material somehow degrade over time?

They should be fine as far as I can tell, though do you want to risk it??

We've had problems with expired flasks before. Cells not adhering properly etc. It took us a long while to figure out the problem as they had come in only a week or so before from the supplier and so we didn't even suspect their age would be an issue. I wouldn't risk it if I were you.

Depends on if the flasks are coated with some compound or protein. Some are just sort of etched or otherwise surface treated without chemicals and those should be fine as long as they are still sterile. Others with something like collagen or something else might break down over time.
