I accidentally opened a sterile container of DMSO out of the tissue culture hood. It was sterile, so it was not supposed to be opened outside. I did not open it all the way and immediately closed the bottle back. What are the chances that it is contaminated?

The chances are actually fairly low... however do you want to take that risk???

If you really want to use it: fill a tube with LB and a tube with YP, add your dmso and incubate at the appropiate temperatures, check after a few days for growth

Note - many filter types will dissolve in DMSO, choose a membrane type that doesn't!
