Hi,

I have been using the same Ethidium Bromide bottle (50 ml, 10mg/ml) for 5 years. I don't consume a lot since I only incorporate it in the gel at a low concentration for DNA visualization. I store it at 2-8 C and the bottle is made of opaue glass. The question is, do you think there could be any benefit in terms of  detection sensitivity (brightness of the bands) If I switch to a newly purchased ethidium bromide bottle? For How long do you keep your Ethidium bromide solution?

I'm using the same 10 mg/ml solution I had 15 years ago.  I don't think it goes bad.
