I have a PI of entomology field and a co-supervisor of molecular biology field. If i want to publish a paper solely in entomology (a part of my phd), should i list my co a the author? As he didn't contribute grant/idea to this part of my research. If i publish a paper solely in molecular bio, i'll need list both of them as author since my PI pay the money and i use facilities in my co's lab (although non of them contribute ideas...)? If i collaborate with other lab and publish a paper, should i put my co's name if he didnt contribute any idea or money and i didn't use his lab's facility?
Or, either with contribution or not, publication of any part of my thesis must have my PI and co as co-author?
