How to sterilize activated charcoal

Hii,
can somebody help to on how to sterilize activated charcoal in culture media...
BTW i'm working on microspore culture of oil palm...

Add it to media before autolcaving. But if using it for phenolics it is complete waste of time and health  ;)
If you can, just subculture more often.
