Cy5-labeling of a protein

Hi,

Cy5 interacts with free amino groups of my protein. The buffer usually is CaCO3 at pH 9.3.
Do you have tried additives such as NaCl or Triton-X100 to stabilize the protein?
I could not find anything in the manual. Hope you have a good suggestion!!!
