Hello everybody,
Please I want to establish subcutaneous cancer model. I have not been able to get literature on the number of cells to inject for sub-cutaneously.
My questions are:
1. What is the maximum number of cells can I inject/mouse?
2. After how many days do I consider the injected cancer cells not viable?
3. Can someone give me literature on sub-cutaneous xenograft techniques?

hola, Im new in a pharmacology lab, but I have prepared Heko? cellsfor inject,and the number of injected cells was5x10e6 each side. After a week we started to sens some light mass touching the injection area.sorry but i havenīt any reference to you because Iīm not in the lab. Buena suerte

It depends. usually 1-5 millions of cells are injected. Although tumor appears faster if you use more cells, the tumor will also grow faster afterward, which is not good if you want to test some treatment.

With a new cell line, we always titrate the cell line in-vivo, min. 4 mice per cell concentration. Usually 250,000cells, 500,000 cells and 1 million cells injected sub-cue. From the growth curves you can determine what growth rate is good for your experiment.
