I need to do some mammalian cell culture transfections and had 2 quick questions. I know that transfections depend a lot on different cell types (MCF10A, MDCK, and MCF7a) but in general what has your experience been with this. BTW, I am using lipofectamine 2000. :
Are DNA plasmids purified from Qiagen-maxiprep kits (the non-endotoxin free version) generally pure enough to use for transfections?
Can I use DNA resuspended in TE buffer (.5 mM EDTA) for transfections? I read in current protocols that DNA in TE buffer with greater than .3 mM EDTA could interfere with lipofectamine transfection.
Thanks!
