Are there any grant opportunities available for a research technologist? There are many available for graduate students. I'm sure there must be. If not though, is there any way to be eligible for graduate student grants (be it for research or travel etc...)?

Thanks.

There are technology research grants, but not many or any grants that are available to research technologists. Heck, there aren't many grants to go around for scientists too.

- I guess you can always convince your department to grant you some funding if you are good; I imagine you don't need a huge grant.

- Also, perhaps undergrad student grants if available at your place.

- Check the professional societies in the field of your research.

Edit: eh well, let us know if you found any in last four years! For all I know, you might be a hot-shot PI.

So. Now that you have your first ever question on bioforum answered (or not), mail yourself your username and password so you don't forget them, and then come back soon to update us on how it all worked out. That's how you build Karma in science.
