Dear collective brain:
I have two plasmids transformed into Bl21(DE3) E. coli cells.
The first plasmid is pET26b-EGFP (with a T7 promoter induced by IPTG).
The second plasmid is pTetR-mRFP (with a TetR promoter induced by aTc).
I have read that addition of 1% glucose can help reduce basal levels of uninduced expression of GFP. I am wondering if anyone knows whether glucose will affect the function of the Tet operon and subsequent production of mRFP?
Thanks!
Does glucose affect protein expression from a TetR promoter?
