I am also looking for such a book...
I wonder if this book is still worth buying? Its from 1988 ? Has there been no big evolution/change in the (practical) knowledge the last 20 years? Or is the book still ok and not outdated?

Some of the techniques are a bit out-dated (e.g. we can now relatively easily synthesise peptides), but the basics are excellent.
