Dissolving Cholesterol in MSM Agar

Hello All!
        I am trying to find a way to get cholesterol to break apart and dissolve evenly throughout my MSM agar medium. I know it doesn't have a high solubility, so I was thinking of using ethyl ether to dissolve it and use a TLC spray to spray the surface of MSM Agar to see if my bacteria can metabolize it.  :huh:  Thank you!

Hi,

Are you using bought cholesterol or have you extracted it from blood?

Bought cholesterol from Sigma
