I read some journals where the authors predicted protein function. It seems awesome and i would like to do that in a chapter of my phd project. Is there any recommendation for relevant books? I know nothing bout bioinformatic. Also, i heard that to run the prediction software, sometimes we need to use a super computer, which i don't have it in my lab, and i don't have the software either. Can i use the online webserver for protein prediction in my project? And must i have a supervisor/co-supervisor who has some knowledge in this field?
