I am looking to purchase sample management software and would be grateful for your experiences or recommendations, comparisons or citations. There are many programs out there such as FreezerPro, FreezerWorks, SampleWare, EZFreezer, GenConnect, and likely several others.
Applications would be for a campus site license eventually and I'm hoping others have compared the important features across some products.
We have researchers in basic science with relatively low security needs, and some in medicine with high security needs.
I specifically want to help basic scientists organize their samples and eliminate expired or useless samples.
More basically, as a researcher, what do you find most useful?
Least useful?
Would having an "expiration date" on each sample help you review sample priority every year or so?
