Detailed version:
So Wolfram Alpha (the computational knowledge engine) is holding a holiday giveaway this season. I have entered in its spikey (Wolfram Alpha's red cool 3D polygonal structure) photo vote-off and am asking for a bit of help from all you lab practitioners out there as I believe you would "get" my entry. The vote-off is the result of submitting a fun fact derived from a Wolfram Alpha search, building the spikey sent to me, and taking a photo of it either at my office, with friends, at holiday parties...etc., anywhere where Wolfram Alpha's fact might be used. So as a student researcher in the biomedical sciences, I took those instructions to heart and built a little simple Christmas tree (http://bit.ly/judithstree) out of lab supplies with the spikey placed on top. What I'm asking for is your support and for us latex/nitrile glove-wearing, pipette-whipping, and ice bucket using individuals to unite!! If you have a little time to spare from you daily lab tasks, please consider supporting my entry and get a chance to win a Wolfram Alpha t-shirt each time you vote. The voting goes on every day until Jan 3rd, so if you would like to practice your online voting skills, please vote every day! Pretty please! Just in case, here's my entry again: http://bit.ly/judithstree
Many thanks and happy holidays everyone!
Judith
