This month our lab bought an UV transilluminator from MaestroGen which product is called UltraBright UV transilluminator. When I first used it today, I cannot see the UV lamp from the black glass anymore when power is turned on. Also, I found the image quality of DNA bands is great and their website shows a data about their UltraSafe UV shield for gel cutting. I think this product is nice. Share with all.

I asked MaestroGen sales why their UltraBright UV transilluminator shows a better contrast of band image without seeing the UV lamps. They answered me they use a specific UV black glass unlike what other manufacturers used.
