Hello!
That's my problem: I was studing the expression level of the lipase gene ATGL in three different conditions. I used the actin as the housekeeping gene. Well, when I performed the pcr with the pure samples, only the bands of the two genes appeared in the agarose gel.
However when I diluted my samples of the three different conditions, one extra band of 3 kb appeard with the atgl gene bands.
I don't think it's contamination, because there are difference in the expression levels between atlg and actin gene and very light bands of primers can be seen.
So, I can't explain the extra band! Has anybody ever had this same problem?
Help me, please!
Thank you!
Extra bands in pcr of diluted samples
