I have some PCR reactions that used to work like gold and now I'm getting nothing but high molecular weight smears.  I know I could order new primers, but has anyone had any success with snap-freezing or any other primer saving technique?  If you have a good protocol let me know.

You can try heating them at 95 deg. for 5 minutes, then put them on ice.  Primers degrade over time, especially with multiple freeze/thaw cycles.  Primers are cheap these days -- no reason not to order new primers.
