I have been looking for the actual list of genes described as prognostic signatures for breast cancer.

"70-gene signature" used in mammaprint prognosis test
(A gene-expression signature as a predictor of survival in breast cancer. N Engl J Med 2002;347:1999–2009).

"76-gene signature" used for tamoxifen rx
(The 76-gene signature defines high-risk patients that benefit from adjuvant tamoxifen therapy.Breast Cancer Res Treat. 2009 Jul;116(2):303-9.)

Funny thing is, the papers do not name the actual genes. Many papers have been subsequently published which have used these signatures, but I could not find the list of genes anywhere at all!

Does anyone know why this is so, and if you can find the list for me, I would highly appreciate!

Sorry - I have also visited to the article page but couldn’t able to find the list of 70 genes and I can’t able to share any encouraging news at this moment..!

However, as your question is very thought provoking in nature I am very curious to ask - did you received any response from the authors?!!

I think you can find the list of the Mammaprint in the original article of van 't Veer in Nature
(fig 2b in this PDF:http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v415/n6871/pdf/415530a.pdf)

You can find the 76-gene list in the original article of Wang et al. in The Lancet (Volume 365, Issue 9460, 19 February 2005-25 February 2005, Pages 671-679 )
Gene-expression profiles to predict distant metastasis of lymph-node-negative primary breast cancer (Table 3)

If you don't have access to these PDFs, just let me know and I'll send them to you.
