This might be a silly doubt... Well, the other day we were having this conversation as to what vector to use to transfect into my mammalian cells. We have been using pcDNA. But we wanted somethign else, so people came up with BUD etc etc.. I said PGEX vector, but they said it is an protein expression vector.. so cant use it... ??!!?? But dont we want to produce out protein and isnt that why we are transfecting it into the cells??
So, can you please tell me the difference between different vectors, pleaseeeee...
Also has anybody used pCMV6-AC-IRES-GFP-Puro vector from origene??? can it be used for transfectioninto mammalian cells to overexpress my gene and also use it as a protein expression vector since it has myc-dkk tag??? please help!!!!!!! pleeeeeeeeeeeeaseeeeeeee
