We want to monitor how fast the proteins move out of the gel by checking the coloring in the gel from time to time during the blotting process. This way the time it takes to blot would be more quantitative. I got different opinions online on western blot a gel that's stained. Some say no problem;some say efficiency will be lower;some say it only works with certain stains. I wonder if any one has practical experience in blotting a stained gel? Thank you!
