Dear all, I don't know which one is better.
My research is to identify the Cry4B toxin receptor in Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae.
I have read two different papers. The firsr one used excised midguts for extaction of BBMV proteins but for second, whole larvae have been used. This is my thesis and the advisor suggested that I should extract from the excised midguts. He think I'll get no positive band from the binding assay with Cry4B toxin because the concentration of BBMV proteins might be lower that that from excised midguts. I prefer to prepare from whole larvae coz it will be an convenient method and the paper supported that it gave the same result.
Please give me suggestions.
Thank you.
