I've recently started using white 96 well plates (from VWR) for my qPCR reactions (not sure if they make a difference but I am too paranoid at this point than to want to switch). I am using a homebrew mastermix cocktail which is a clear liquid that is very difficult to visualize on the white background of the plate. I've noticed that a few companies sell blue colored mastermixes to aid in visualization and protect against pippeting errors (e.g. http://www.abgene.co....asp?prodID=372 and http://www.quantabio.com/).
The only company that I can find that offers the reagent as a stand alone add-in is http://www.tataa.com...uct-flyer.html. However, they do not seem to offer the product in the U.S.
Any other suggested solutions (e.g. making the dye myself or other products)?
Thanks,
Dan
