Hi
I'm looking to make a new mEF strain for our lab and was wondering if you can use any mouse strain for them? I have found papers/suppliers that use mEFS from C57/BL6, CF-1, FVB and ICR strains. Specifically can i use Quackenbush mice to generate mEFs that will support hESCs? Quackenbush mice give such big litters it would be nice if they could be used.
Thanks
JC

which (m or h) ESCs are you targetting to grow, by far CF1 is the best which we use, also millipore has feeder cells for hECS works fine.
