Hi,
This question is basic, but I do not seem to follow when and why we use SDS for electrophoresis. What are the pros and cons of using agarose gel electrophoresis and SDS PAGE ? If there is a link that explains this in detail, please let me know. Thanks!

SDS-PAGE is typically used for proteins, agarose is mostly used for nucleic acids.

DNA is already negatively charged so it will move towards the positive electrode while SDS gives the uniform negative charge to Proteins in PAGE!!
more basic information can be easily available by googling it!!! its all over the net..
if u need anything more spesific then give us some more details of wat exactly u wanna understand!!
best luck!
Support bacteria - They are the only culture some people have!!!
Cheers!!!
