Hi,
This question is basic, but I do not seem to follow when and why we use SDS for electrophoresis. What are the pros and cons of using agarose gel electrophoresis and SDS PAGE ? If there is a link that explains this in detail, please let me know. Thanks!

SDS-PAGE is typically used for proteins, agarose is mostly used for nucleic acids.

DNA is already negatively charged so it will move towards the positive electrode while SDS gives the uniform negative charge to Proteins in PAGE!!
