hello. I was wondering if anyone knows the reason why some PDL coating protocols call for using water to dissolve the poly-d-lysine, and others use sodium borate pH 8.5. I've seen many protocols suggest either one but never with a rationale as to why you would choose one over the other.

it's mostly just curiosity, in our lab we use sodium borate and I've no reason to change it.
