hey there
I have got this DNA fragment which is of 81 bp length and I have to extract it according to phenol/chloroform protocol because I don't have a gel extraction kit with appropriate cut-off size in my hand. I wonder if any one can comment me on the very first step of getting rid of the gel, like should i melt it( which is not a very clever way obviously 'cos it is a 3% agarose gel) or any other possible and reasonable way. And please forget about filter papers 'cos I don't have access to those too.
