i am currently not that familiar with FACS analysis:

is it possible to test the same sample for apoptosis AND proliferation markers?

could it be that there is a double positive population - e.g. apoptotic cells which express proliferation markers or vice versa??

you need to subscribe (free of charge) to Purdue flow cytometry list which gathers more than 3000 flow cytometry labs worldwide, if you post your question their you will receive replies from professionals of the field

I think you could stain cells simultaneously for apoptosis and proliferation markers as long as they are conjugated to different fluorophores. There might not be a double positive population as I think the apoptotic cells might not express proliferation markers.

1. Proliferation and apoptosis by CFSE-AnnexinV-7AAD +surface activation markers (correlates with proliferation, such asCD38, CD69, HLADR,etc)
2. Cell cycle (anyDNA dye compartible)+ proliferation (Ki67 IC) + apoptosis (by DNA contetnt- hypodiploid pike)
etc..etc..etc..
