we usually made our DMEM medium from powdered form (gibco) and after filteration store it at +4 for 1-2 months, but I dont know if we store this medium for longer time periods like 3-5 months without loss of nutrients. is there any sugesstions?

There are labile components in medium, of which only L-glutamine seems to be commonly replaced.  The pre-made media available from Invitrogen has a expiry about a year after purchase, so I don't think there will be too much problem with storing yours for longer, so long as you add L-glut.
