When perfusing animals for fixation, I usually inject the heart with approx. .25cc of heparin sodium before starting the perfusion. I'm thinking of using saline with heparin in it instead and cutting a step out of the protocol, but I'm not sure what concentration of heparin to use and could use some guidance. Is there a standard concentration used for perfusion with heparinized saline?
