The coomassie stain is 50% methanol, 10% acetic acid, .2% coomassie dye, and the rest water. Can this be disposed of down the drain?
Thanks

Not in our labs. Dilute alcohol solutions are hazardous waste. No beer down the drain.

methanol is neurotoxic, so collection of waste containing methanol and special disposal is necessary
