Hi everyone,
I'm new to cell culture and would like to know the proliferative effects of H2O2 on endothelial cells. Our lab use HUVEC-C from atcc but the medium required for this cell line is F12K, which contains sodium pyruvate.
I tried to add H2O2 and test its effect on endothelial cells but there's no change in the cell proliferation and i think it's because of the sodium pyruvate present in the medium. Does anyone know that if sodium pyruvate is a necessary nutrient for this cell and if not, can i remove it from the medium and how as i cannot find out any F12K (without sodium pyruvate) can be purchased commercially...
Please help me......

I have a similar question about sodium pyruvate listed under cell biology (it probably should be listed under tissue and cell culture).  Check out my response.  I'll let you know if i get anything.
