Is it possible that yeast ADH1 promoter is working in E. coli?

Not in the same way. There may be promoter activity of a DNA region which is a yeast promoter, but it will not be because the E. coli recognizes the same signals as yeast does. There could be accidental promoter activity, since bacterial promoters are quite degenerate.
