i have a simple question but it confused me

i need to extract RNA from virus infected plant tissue (lettuce)
i wonder if i extract the whole RNA from virus and plant together using TRIZol
is this workable? or i can isolate viral RNA individually from plant RNA?
and how can i do this?
NOTCE: plant tissue is not fresh, but is frozen in -20.

Hi,

Plant/fungi RNA Purification kit is good for this application. You will be able to isolate Total RNA including the viral RNA.  This kit is the best for viroids as they are small.
