I don't see why not, but it could also depend on your downstream app. For our project, it made no difference.

Hm, I assumed it's the same "chemistry"/solution just from a different supplier. I mixed TRI reagent with TriZol from our neighboring lab when I ran out of TRI reagent... for expression profiling. It worked for me.
