I am trying to isolate the DNA from scats of vertebrates. I tried Phenol:Choloroform & GuSCN methods. but i am not able to get desired DNA. If I got somethings its not amplify in PCR properly and also some bacterial DNA is also there. So plz tell me how can i got the desired bateria free DNA from Scat

We have had good results isolating bacterial DNA for PCR amplification from mouse and human feces using the ExtractMaster fecal DNA extraction kit from
Epicentre Biotechnologies.

Try a Qiagen fecal kit. There's also MoBio kits - they generally will send you a couple preps for free to try them out - and they're good for environmental stuff.
