I need to remove spots from my 2D gels for proteomics. I stain my gels with syproruby. Can I leave the gels in sypro ruby overnight at 4C and do the spot removal in the next day, or should I remove the spots immediately after staining?

Overnight is fine. I've left gels stained with Sypro Ruby for 6 months with no substantial loss of signal.
