I'am doing to do a southern blotting and i have forgotten to crosslink the DNA on membrane before the prehybridisation step.I would like to know if DNA is always on membrane without crosslinking.Thanksmichel

There will be some DNA but don't expect distinct bands when you probe

It depends on the transfer method and the type of membrane. If you did alkali blotting onto N plus membrane it is not necessary to crosslink your DNA because it is covalently linked.
