Does anyone know how to genotype transgenic mice using PCR? I don' t want to do slot blot because of radioactivity.Thanks

Somebody is doing it in our lab. They extract genomic DNA from the distal piece of tail, and perform a simple PCR using usual TaqPol and primers for inserted cDNA, designed to anneal in two different exons in genomic DNA. Band size is used to differentiate between positives and endogenous gene copies.
