So our lab has both NEB and Invitrogen REs.

I want to digest a plasmid that has SalI and NotI restriction sites.

NEB tells me that these enzymes are compatible for double digestion. However we don't have either of these enzymes

We do have both enzymes from Invitrogen.

Is it possible to proceed with a double digestion using invitrogen enzymes with NEB buffers?

Or would i just have to do a sequential digestion? Thanks and forgive me if this is a silly question.

Usually it is OK.  Have a look at the buffer compositions for NEB and Invitrogen, they are likely to be very similar.
