Hi all..

I am about to start RNA isolation from insect cells. I could not find a satisfactory protocol for this purpose. Can someone suggest a protocol to start with? I will also be doing some DNA isolations. My insect is a Lepidopteran and I plan to do the nucleic acid isolation from the larval stages.

thanks in advance.

A large number of methods have been described including those using commercially available kits (Trizol and RNAeasy for instance). Google "lepidopteran rna extraction".

Hope this helps
