I am doing a 2 step rt pcr, and I was wondering the first step, where I use superscript II reverse transcriptaser to reverse transcribe the rna into cdna (42C for 1 hr). Does this step amplify the cDNA produced at all or does it just create the same number ofcdna as the origional rna?

Cheers!

Same number (ideally) of cDNA molecules as the initial number of mRNA copies.
