Hi,

I would like to incubate a protein complexe in 70-90% DMSO and then separate it with SDS-PAGE. Somebody knows if DMSO can cause troubleshooting during electrophoresis?

Thank you for your answer.

Why does a science forum not have pictures of mice and rats?

Hi Baeinoix,

I do not think you should have difficulty with electrophoresis. Pierce makes a kit (SDS-PAGE sample prep kit 89888) that uses DMSO in a protein binding buffer. The troubleshooting section says to increase [DMSO] to >60% to improve efficiency of binding. here is the link:

Thank you for your answer but it seems that the DMSO is removed in the kit during wash step. I think I will remove DMSO by SpeedVac my samples...
