Hi,

Brand new to the forum with a pressing question:

I need to stain live zoospores of the fungus Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis, a pathogen of amphibians. I would prefer to add the stain to the nutrient agar on which the fungus is cultured, but could potentially add it after scraping fungal spores off plates instead. It would be most convenient if the stain could be added before autoclaving (therefore stain not denatured by high heat/pressure), but I could add it when pouring plates if necessary. I have no preference for fluorescent/non-fluorescent stains, but the zoospores must remain alive.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Hi,
I dont have any idea but I am also starting my study where I have to stain Ascaris lumricoides eggs. Are you succeeded in staining the fungal spores? which stains have you used?
