Hi everyone

How often do you calibrate your pHmeter? Do you do that every time you use it or is once a week enough?

cheers

I calibrate every time I go to use it, you never know what state the probe has been left in....

Depends on instrument, use and precision,
Our intrument with solid state elektrode ones a day just 1 digit, the research pH meter glaselektrode every measurement 2 digits, and the instrument for bloodgasses every 6 hours automaticaly. 3 digits and just blood as sample.

We do it daily in the morning... and before taking pH just check if the calibration is valid by checking the pH of the calibration buffers by which it was calibrated...
Some pH maters can be fine even if calibrated once in 3 days.. but the maintainance plays the key role.. We change the KCl solution at regular intervals (every three days) and the calibration buffers too!!! and a big no no to contamination...
Support bacteria - They are the only culture some people have!!!
Cheers!!!
