hi all,

quick question, does anybody know what the first cell line to be immortalised by gentic engineering was.

Specifically, i am not looking for the first cells immortalised by intact viruses or by man induced tumours in animals, but the first primary cells which were treated with a plasmid encoding genes (such as LTAg or whichever was first)

does anybody know what they were and a reference for the paper?

many thanks.
