Hi, everyone, is aminocaproic acid nescessary for doing BN-PAGE?

if it's a component of the buffer then don't omit it and don't try substituting anything else (until you know more about it, if at all).

Keep it in there, as you will need an anion to drive the proteins the correct direction. This is especially important if you are running proteins with a net positive charge.

You can substitute deoxycholic acid (DOC) for the aminocaproic acid.
