I have read that glyoxal can be used to crosslink polyacrylamide, but I do cannot find the conditions under which crosslinking will occur. The glyoxal experts at BASF were no help with this although they advertise that glyoxal will crosslink polyacrylamide. I have a 50% solution of polyacrylamide in water that is not crosslinked and a 40% solution of glyoxal in water. I have done a few simple trials, but I have not achieved crosslinking in water. I am trying to form a crosslinked gel that will swell in water. Please let me know if you have done this before or have any advice! Thank you!
