Can anyone recommend a good serum free media to culture 293T cells?
Currently all we use in the lab is RPMI 1640 enriched with 10% bovine serum. There are so many types available with specific claims. Advice from an experienced lab tech would be great.

the use of serum free media and the type of serum free media is completely dependent on what you want to do. Serum free media is 10X more expensive than serum-containing media.
take a look at fischer Scientific and invitrogens serum free solutions and what they would recommend for that cell type.
